1) The dinning hall of Pencey serve steak on Saturday nights, because that day ,the parents came to see their sons,  and with that type of food, the school give the parents a good impression, if they ask their childrens what they have eaten
2) Holden invites Ackley to a movie because Ackley never do something on Saturday nights. That fact show that Holden try to integrate people to a group, so they don't be always alone even if that person, that he is trying to integrate, dislikes him.
3) Holden don't throw the snowball cause all the things that he was going to ruin throwing that snowball, was to beatifull
4) It doesn't surprice me that Holden do that composition to Stradlater, because he likes to read and write, and he dont have to do anything in that moment. Also can be that Holden is a good friend, or hat he want to write about his brother, to remember him
5) Holden is not to crazy to describe  rooms and houses, because he dont know what to describe in a room or house, instead of the baseball mitt, that have poems written on it
6) Allie was smart and a good person, he doesn't became angry with someone or anything. Also he have a red hair.
Holden wasn't smart, and sometimes it wans't good with people, but only because he was tired or angry of something. Also dont have a red hair

The Catcher in the Rye Chapter 4 Answers

1) The relationship between Holden and Stradlater was that they were toomates. Also Holden gives borrowed things to Stradlater, like his coat pocket, but even if Holden do that, Stradlater took Holden things without permission. For Holden Stradlater was handsome, and in love with him, but was a "phony bastard" cause he was friendly only for doing favours for him. For stradlater Holden was a "hot-shot" on writing, and a helper to do his homework or to provide him things
2) Holden was apparently in love with Jane Gallagher, from about a couple of years when they live near the other. He know how shes family was, and also his strategy on chequers. Anyway he can't stop thinking about her
3) The reason that Holden gives for not going downstair and saying hello to Jane was because he wasn't in the "right mood" that he must have to talk her. But I think that he was a little scared or nervous to talk her again after all the time that he doesn't see her
